We would tend to recommend: Presonus-Stidio One, Ableton-Live, Reaper and Traktion. Each of them has FREE version available. Bitwig studio is also available for Linux OS. APPLE Logic-Pro is only for MAC computers. Probably the most versatile and free software is REAPER. The paid version is only $60. It is available to Mac, Windows and Linux.
